Robbie Robertson with Van Morrison: I Hear You Paint Houses
As you know, the great Robbie Robertson, the principal songwriter and lead guitarist for The Band, passed away at 80 last week.
Robertson befriended Martin Scorsese during the filming of The Last Waltz, he later worked on many soundtracks for later Scorsese movies--including The Irishman, which is about the murder of Teamster boss Jimmy Hoffa.
The movie is based on a book, I Heard You Paint Houses, which is mob code for murder. Paint meaning blood.
This song, with another good friend of Robertson's, Van Morrison, adding vocals, played during the credits of The Irishman, "I Hear You Paint Houses."
