Latrell Allen, man whose shooting by Chicago cops inspired rioting in August 2020, found guilty of attempted murder of police officers

Three months after the George Floyd riots in 2020, incorrect information spread online that Chicago police officers shot a 15-year-old boy. There were calls on social media, what happened instead was a another round of massive looting on the Magnificient Mile and other retail area.

The "boy," Latrell Allen, was 20. And he shot at Chicago cops, according to police officials.

Yesterday, in a story only CWB Chicago is carrying as of this blog post, the site reports, "Tonight, after less than three hours of deliberation, a jury convicted Allen on all charges before them, including four counts of attempted murder of police officers."

That second round of looting greatly accelerated the exodus of big-ticket retailers, including, Gap, Disney, and Macy's from the Mag Mile.
