The Move - Curly

Like the Small Faces, the Move was an English band from the 1960s that wasn't really part of the British Invasion. Although quite popular in the UK, they never found success in America.

Which is too bad. Here is the Move with their 1969 British hit, "Curly."

If you know much about the Electric Light Orchestra, then you are aware that ELO was originally a side-project of the Move. Jeff Lynne joined the Move in 1970.

Move leader Roy Wood and Lynne went separate directions after the break-up of the Move. Lynne, along with Move drummer Bev Bevan, stayed with ELO.

That's Wood playing recorder in the video.

As for "Curly," it sounds a bit like a Kinks song from the same era, doncha think?
