On this day (maybe) in 1920, Isaac Asimov born

The great science-fiction writer--and mystery novelist, historian, ethicist, and many more--Isaac Asimov, was born around 100 years ago today.

Asimov, who was born in the Soviet Union, actually wasn't sure exactly when he was born, but he always celebrated January 2 as his birthday. According to Wikipedia, "Asimov was born in Petrovichi, Smolensk Oblast, Russian SFSR on an unknown date between October 4, 1919 and January 2, 1920, inclusive."

Asimov edited or wrote over 500 books. His best known work is the Foundation series, which I remain an enormous fan of.
