Still, I have to question the wisdom having an organized late night bike ride in dangerous neighborhoods. The woman hit by the SUV is being hospitalized and is in good condition.

A man was shot and killed after chasing down an SUV that struck a woman who was with a large group of bicyclists who ride through the city on Monday nights.
The 39-year-old man was in a car, recording about 100 members of the Monday Night Ride group, when the blue SUV hit the woman around 1:30 a.m. in the Chatham neighborhood on the South Side, police said.
The SUV sped off and the man chased it, catching up with it in the 600 block of East 76 Street. As the man argued with the driver, another car approached and someone inside fired, hitting the man twice in the neck, police said.
He was taken to the University of Chicago Hospital and pronounced dead.
