The first weekend of autumn saw three people shot to death and at least 36 others wounded in Chicago. Two of the murders took place on the West Side--one in Austin, Chiraq's murder capital, and the other was in North Lawndale. The other shooting death was in Hegewisch on the Southeast Side. Shootings are rare there--and this is the first homicide of 2017 in neighborhood that borders Indiana.
