Cheapest Chicago Hillary book tour tickets nearly double what originally promised

Two likely Chicago Hillary supporters

To swipe a phrase from Eric Idle's underrated rockumentary, The Rutles - All You Need is Cash, Hillary Rodham Clinton's Magical Misery Tour--oops, make that her book tour--begins later this month. "The final torture," left-leaning Politico quipped about Clinton's jaunt to hawk her book about her defeat at the hands of Donald J. Trump.

I can't think of a single person who'd want to sit through Hillary, who even her supporters admit is not a likable person, moan about the 2016 election for free. And yes, I know a lot of liberals.

The organizers of her tour think differently. Originally tickets for Clinton's Chicago stop, which occurs on the night before Halloween, were to start at $45, but now the cheapest seats are a whopping $75--plus a $13.50 handling fee, according to the Chicago Tribune. A Hillary spokesperson claims that there were a few $45 tickets but they "sold out quickly."

Really?

But where are the $75 tickets? When I visited the box office site for the Auditorium Theatre, which is hosting the Hillarypalooza, the cheapest tickets I could find were $149--and they are up in the nosebleed section. Front section seats are as high $603 each. I'm sure there is a handling feature for those too. And is Clinton's book, which I hear is titled, "Why I'm So Horrible," even included in the ticket price?

Chicago Tribune! Are you reading this post?

Whether it's cattle futures, book deals, or the Clinton Foundation, the Clintons have always been about collecting cash. Politics is simply a means to an end for them.

But they're for "the little guy." Yes, even you over there.
