Poll: 87 percent of Cook County residents oppose Taxwinkle's soda tax

The great majority of Cook County, Illinois residents aren't as daft as I thought. Yes, there is hope for the future! According to a poll taken last week by We Ask America, 87 percent of respondents say they oppose Toni "Taxwinkle" Preckwinkle's sugary drink tax. Just 12 percent support it and only one percent are undecided.

As for the fatuous claim the the Crook County Board president that the tax is about the health of Chicagoans and inner suburbanites, only 11 percent of those responding are falling for Taxwinkle's lie.

John S - I agree, based in the voting record in Cook County. Maybe 87% disagree with Taxwinkle but 95% will re-elect her when the time comes.

Cook County Democrats. Their minds are made up. Don't confuse them with the facts. Preckwinkle will be reelected. That's how we keep getting into these messes in Cook, Chicago and Illinois!

Last time 100 percent did because the Republican Party didn't even bother to field a candidate against her.
