While news of the ramming death of a counterprotester woman at a Charlottesville, Virginia white supremacist rally dominated the news, the people of Chicago continued to slaughter each other.
Nine people were shot to death and at least 33 others were wounded over the weekend. Also, there was a stabbing death.
The shooting deaths occurred on the South and West sides, and among them a double murder stands out. Two men were gunned down while walking up the stairs of a church in Austin. That West Side neighborhood is Chicago's homicide capital.
