Years ago Salem Baptist Church in Chicago's Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side was St. Salomea Catholic Church, the unofficial Polish Catholic house of worship in that part of town. It's now Salem Baptist Church.
But still outside of the church is a memorial dedicated "in loving memory of those who made the supreme sacrifice in World War II."
Remember them and the others who did the same today on Memorial Day.
