Democrat Senate boss drops proposal to tax Illinois drivers by the mile

The people of Illinois still have some backbone in them.

Good. They spoke up and the Chicago Democrat backed down.

From Fox Illinois:
Senate President John Cullerton has decided to pull his proposal to tax Illinois drivers by the mile.

The Senate President announced Monday that he has taken feedback from many of the people around the state, and is removing his proposal to tax Illinois drivers by the mile as a way to fund road construction throughout the state.

Drivers are thankful that Cullerton has decided to withdraw his proposal.

"Definitely, I mean, I drive everyday mostly. If I have to pay more money to be able to like drive on the road or whatever then that's just kind of absurd," said Austin Tieman of Bloomington/Normal.
It's so absurd even the Senate boss realized it.
