Lincoln Park Native American statue: The Alarm

There are a couple of dozen statues in Chicago's Lincoln Park.

On Thanksgiving I'd like to focus on one honoring Native Americans.

Pictured here is The Alarm, also know as Indian Alarm, a bronze statue by John J. Boyle, a tribute to the Ottawa Indians who once populated northern Illinois.

There are carvings on the base, each portraying scenes on Ottawa life, "the Peace Pipe, the Corn Dance, Forestry, and the Hunt."
