(Photo) Let's Go Hawks--We Want the Cup mural

The Chicago area is in a rare celebratory mood. While our economy lags that of the rest of the nation, Illinois and Chicago have unsustainable public pension debt, the Chicago Blackhawks are in the Stanley Cup finals for the third time in six years. Our side won the first two.

On Chicago's North Side, a Newfoundland native took a few days off from his job as a sign painter to paint this "Let;s Go Hawks--We Want the Cup!" mural on Damen Avenue.

The Blackhawks grabbed a victory in Game One three nights ago against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Game two is tonight.
