Douglas Park, Chicago--Jan. 2014 |
Last January Chicago officials were touting the low number of shootings and murders as evidence of their crime fighting strategies were a success. Realists such as myself gave credit to the brutally cold weather of last winter.
In January of 2015,
murders were up forty percent and shootings were up by 38 percent.
The good news is that because there was a blizzard yesterday, Groundhog Day figures to be quiet in Chiraq.
