Illinois Executive Mansion |
It's crumbling.
So is the governor's mansion.
From NBC 5 Chicago:
Perhaps it's time Gov. Pat Quinn did something about his decaying home. When Quinn succeeded his two-time running mate Rod Blagojevich, the Chicago Democrat promised he'd live in Springfield. Instead, he spends most of his time at his West Side home, where last month the grass wasn't being mowed and dandelions dominated.
The Illinois governor's Civil War-period Executive Mansion was practically falling apart last month when its curator, Dave Bourland, detailed the water damage from a brutal winter that caused the roof to leak.
Now, the Pantagraph reports, the basement is flooded, too.
Quinn can't manage his homes, so it should be no surprise he's unable to run the state.
His general election opponent, Republican Bruce Rauner, vows he'll live in the governor's mansion after he defeats Quinn.
