(Video) Philip Seymour Hoffman in Liberty! The American Revolution

Philip Seymour Hoffman died today in New York City, of an apparent drug overdose--another great talent who lived a troubled life.

While best known for his roles in such films as Boogie Nights, Capote, and The Master, Hoffman also appeared as Joseph Plumb Martin, a Connecticut Continental Army soldier in PBS' 1997 Liberty! The American Revolution.

Look for the future Oscar winner at 39:50.

Hoffman was 46. Rest in peace.

And at 44:15 the "Rush on Boys". Then the most poignant "You will never know a thousandth of what we suffered..." Martin speech at 50:37.
Philip Seymour Hoffman's portrayal of Joseph Plumb Martin will always be his best work.
