ILSen: Truax sweeps early endorsements over political gadfly

Things are looking up for the Doug Truax effort to unseat lifetime politician and enthusiastic ObamaCare supporter Dick Durbin.

From a Truax campaign press release:
Political newcomer Truax sweeps early key endorsements against perennial candidate

DOWNERS GROVE — West Point graduate and Army veteran Doug Truax has won the first three key GOP endorsements for U.S. Senate after audiences heard from both him and perennial candidate Jim Oberweis.

Today, it was announced that the important DuPage County-based Addison Township Republican Organization endorsed Truax. Both candidates spoke to the organization recently.

Earlier:
  • The Federation of Illinois Young Republicans voted 70.9 percent in favor of Truax over Oberweis at the group's statewide convention Saturday in Bolingbrook. Both candidates spoke that day.
  • The large and pivotal Palatine Township Republican Organization voted 64 percent for Truax over Oberweis last week after hearing both candidates speak.
  • "What these votes mean is that Republicans are yearning for a new kind of conservative candidate who can build a wide enough coalition of young people, men and women, rural, suburban and urban voters to defeat Dick Durbin," Truax said.
Truax is a 43-year-old successful entrepreneur from Downers Grove. His business is in the health care arena and he's an expert on Obamacare. He recently produced four videos on the topic that can be found at DougTruax.com.
