Classic car: 1969 Chevrolet El Camino

I could never ascertain the concept of the coupe utility vehicle. Is it coupe or a pickup? I'm not alone, as far as I can tell, none are currently manufactured for the American or Canadian markets.

The Chevy El Camino is probably the best known example of a coupe utility car. I photographed this 1969 model during Skokie's July 4 parade. From this angle you can't see the pick-up style cargo tray.

Sharp-eyed local readers will recognize the street--it's Skokie Boulevard just north of the Yellow Line tracks.
