Summer road trip recommendation: Illinois' Ronald Reagan Trail

The liberal Rockford Register Star wrote about the Ronald Reagan Trail yesterday. Which reminded me, that we are nearing summer road trip season. Two Junes ago I drove the entire trail, which includes Dutch's birthplace and his boyhood home in Dixon--along with many interesting places in between, including Reagan's alma mater, Eureka College.

While it will be an endurance feat to drive all of it in one day--as I did--I recommend that you take that northwestern Illinois conservative trip this summer, but perhaps you'll want to stretch the trek out over a couple of days.

Sadly, the final piece of the Reagan Trail is gone. The University of Chicago tore down the only Chicago home of the only Illinois-born and bred president last month.
