Counting Crows: Big Yellow Taxi

This week the University of Chicago demolished the Chicago home of the only president born and raised in Illinois. In 1915 "Dutch" and his family lived in the six-flat at 832 E. 57th Street in the Hyde Park neighborhood. Soon the site of the Reagan home will be a parking lot.

Last year I posted a Joni Mitchell performance of her hit, Big Yellow Taxi.

These lyrics from that song were written for abominations such as what the U of C carried out:
Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've got 'til its gone
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot
Here is a version by Counting Crows--with Vanessa Carlton helping out.
