Lake Forest, Illinois has no shortage of distinctive homes, but it has only one dwelling that was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright--the Herbert F. Glore House at 170 North Mayflower. It was built in 1951.
The home is built adjacent to a ravine, of which there are many on Chicago's North Shore. Wright's architectural philosophy included having buildings blend in with the surrounding landscape.
A view of the home from a different angle. It was a challenge taking photographs of this home. East of Sheridan Road in Lake Forest there street parking is prohibited.
There are twelve rooms inside.
Here's a view of part of the house from the ravine.
