The Clash: London Calling

There are many songs about London, but the best known one, at least from the last three decades, is "London Calling" by the Clash.

Lucky me, I was able to see them perform this song at Chicago's Aragon Ballroom in 1982.

This video is of course posted in honor of the 2012 Summer Olympics Games.

I saw them there in 1979. Bo Diddley was the opening act. Undertones followed, then the Clash played.

Must've been great.

The Elvis Brothers, who were from Champaign, IL, where I was going to school, opened for The Clash that time. I had seen them dozens of times prior. Oh well.
