(Photos) Morton Grove Classic Car Show 7/27/12

I visited the Morton Grove Classic Car Show at the Prairie View Shopping Center this for the first time this evening. Weather permitting, the show occurs every other Friday during the summer.

Okay, that's not a classic car. At least yet. But this 2012 Dodge Charger does have a Hemi Engine. That's what the new Morton Grove Police Department cars will look like.

That's a 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle. I guessed it was a '71, which impressed the owner of this muscle car. Most people, he told me, place his automobile in the late 1960s.

A 1950 Ford Customline.

American cars dominated tonight's gathering, but since the Summer Olympics have started, I am compelled to include foreign entries. This is a 1979 Fiat Spider 2000.

This one gets confusing. This is a 1999 edition of the Honda 2000.

A rare 1989 Buick LeSabre T-Type. The owner of this vehicle says only about 5,000 of them were built that year. He knows his stuff--an internet search verifies his statement.

Station wagons were a natural byproduct of the 1950s--big families and sprawling suburbs needed such cars. This is a 1955 Pontiac Safari.

There were several Chevy Corvettes at the show. This one is from 1973.

A Jeep Wrangler a classic? When it's decked out as a Jurassic Park vehicle it is!
