A Chicago Tribune reporter asked her about violence, she told him that her group and the other demonstrators don't have violent intentions. But she volunteered this comment about law enforcement:
The police on the other hand are intending to be violent. We have them recorded saying stuff to us about how they're so excited that they're going to beat our heads off.Sigman is referring to a poorly recorded cell phone video shot a few days ago where a Chicago police office allegedly longingly recalls the 1968 Democratic Convention riots as "a billy club to the f*cking skull" when speaking to occupiers who were pulled over on the South Side after making a three-point turn. Sigman said the demonstrators were her friends and they were "picked up on the street the other day because they looked like protesters."
Another cop goes on to say--again, I have doubts about the veracity of the video, "Okay, now I'll beat your white ass."
There should be do doubt about what is being said and who is saying it in my video. None.
Sigman alleges police "taunting" at the old Occupy Chicago hangout at LaSalle and Jackson downtown as well as "harassment," which includes a cop on a bicycle running into her during last month's Chicago Spring march--she says the cop ordered her "to get the fuck out of [his] way."

I asked her about the anarchists--who have been quite violent at some Occupy protests. After identifying herself as an anarchist, she asked me if I knew the philosophical meaning of anarchy--I replied that I was familiar with the work of Jean-Jacques Rousseau and the Theory of Natural Man. But heaven help us if that Natural State of Man is to vandalize, which is what these Seattle anarchists did just last week.
But that is irrelevant, as you will learn.
"And I think that these questions about the protesters being violent are not questions that are worth having. Because it is the police that are going to be violent," Sigman added. She goes on to allude that the 1999 World Trade Organization riots were the fault of the Seattle police.
She reasserted that the NATO protesters have non-violent intentions.
Finally, she told us, "The police on the other hand are definitely very excited by the fact that they are going to get to hurt people."
Here is what I have to say about the NATO protests: If the demonstrators do what they are told by the police--as they did last month during Chicago Spring and last week on May Day--there will be no need for police 'violence.'
Oh, in regards to taunting, take a close look at my first related entry.
