The two Occupy groups in Washington DC are merging--and they will converge upon hard-pressed McPherson Square.
Illegal overnight camping was finally ended there in February--after four months of squalor that brought rats to the previously pleasant park. The National Park Service just started fixing up the square--the occupiers caused $8,000 worth of damage to McPherson's sod.
And the rats may be back too. The occupiers might set up a full-service tent kitchen. Since they don't plan on having a permit for their protest, I imagine they won't bother with a food dispensing license either. Not that the rats will care about that or the lack of a permit.
People who live and work nearby aren't happy, the Washington Post tells us.
Let the drum circles begin!
