Video: Newt on not bowing to a Saudi king

This is my final video clip from Newt Gingrich's Wednesday appearance in Rosemont, Illinois.

Once again the subject is energy.

"The people who developed North Dakota estimated that if we developed offshore [drilling], if we would develop federal lands," Gingrich told us, "in the next generation in the life of the youngest people who are here today, the total payments and royalties to the federal government would be between sixteen and eighteen trillion dollars." The former House Speaker reminded the audience that the federal budget was balanced for the first time in a generation during his tenure. With his fiscal discipline, Gingrich said, and the windfall from drilling offshore and on federally-owned lands--which President Obama of course opposes--our debt would be eliminated.

And there is more good news, which Newt calls "a double-win." He summarized, "You no longer bow to a Saudi king and you no longer worry about the Chinese--because you pay off all of our debt."

Yes, President Obama, the leader of the most powerful nation on Earth, bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia. The Illinois Primary is Tuesday. Earlier in his address, Gingrich noted the average price of gasoline in the Chicago suburbs--what I have to pay--is $4.25 a gallon. Newt pledges to lower gas prices--to $2.50 per gallon after he becomes president.
