Santorum: A graduate of a Chicago area Catholic high school

I've placed this fact into my "I did not know that" file. Rick Santorum, who boasts of his western Pennsylvania roots, is a graduate of Carmel High School in Mundelein, Illinois. The Catholic institution was all male then. Santorum was a quiet student who wasn't well-remembered--but he was a member of the National Honor Society.

His father's assignment to Great Lakes Naval Training Station in North Chicago brought the future presidential candidate to Lake County. Santorum attended Carmel for just his senior year.

Not everyone is pleased with this news. On Facebook there is a mean-spirited "Carmel Catholic Alumni Against Rick Santorum." It's main beef seems to be the gay issue.
