Dixville Notch, NH vote: Who cares

This time will be
different, Snoopy.
Every four years on New Hampshire Primary day the nine or so residents of the "town" of Dixville Notch vote shortly after midnight. Once all of the registered voters exercise their franchise, the judges can close their poll and release the results.

Dixville Notch is a ski resort located in a remote part of the state; its owners leverage their nine votes into publicity for the property.

And the media just fawns over this "news" as if Moses had come forth with another tablet of commandments.

On Tuesday 325,000 Granite Staters are expected to vote.

I don't begrudge Dixville Notch for working the system, but I wonder why the media--in the manner of Charlie Brown always getting fooled by Lucy when he tried to kick that football every fall--plays along.
