Occupy Chicago's new indoor HQ near NATO G-8 Summit?

Rebelpundit is reporting that Occupy Chicago, which had just five protesters at their base in the Loop last month when I walked past on a mild-for-November weekday morning, is eyeing a new home: loft space at 500 W. Cermak on the Near South Side adjacent to Chinatown. It's a seemingly off-the-beaten path location, but Repelpundit's sharp eye has noticed that it's less than a mile from McCormick Place, where the NATO/G-8 Summit will take place next spring.

Industrial loft space is what Occupy Chicago is eyeing, although they type of work that will be performed there will be of the disruptive sort. Warehouse loft space is in the one-percenter price range, $5,500 a month.

In his post, Rebelpundit explains how that rent will be paid if they move in.

As for the tenants who are already there? Well, I'm sure they will collectively scream out, "There goes the neighborhood!"

During an OccupyCityHall protest I attended in October, FBI target Andy Thayer demanded protest space that is the NATO G-8 summit site. Well, he may have it soon.
