Record set for carved pumpkins in Highwood, IL last month?

Last month Mrs. Marathon Pundit was in Highwood, Illinois last month while the village was attempting to set a world record for most carved pumpkins. The Lake County town claims it achieved its goal, but judges from the Guinness World Book of Records will have the last word.

Pictured are a few of the 30,919 Highwood jack-o-lanterns, Boston holds the record for now, 30,128.

On at least one occasion, all of the jack-o-lanterns were lit.
