Rahm lays off 625 union workers

Where are the protests? Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced the layoffs of 625 union workers earlier today, many of them custodial workers at libraries and the the city's two airports. Private firms will do the tidying up instead.

The Chicago Federation of Labor was warned this would happen--unless it agreed to work rule reforms.
