McCotter rocks into prez race

Near Vail, Colorado
Rep. Thad McCotter (R-MI), who played a mean lead guitar on Huckabee last weekend, entered the presidential race at a suburban Detroit rock festival today.

McCotter has a quirky sense of humor, which he'll probably utilize to explain his vote in favor of the federal bailout of the General Motors and Chrysler to Tea Party members. In his defense, if McCotter voted "No" on that bill, he would have been voted out of office--his constituents wanted the deeply-flawed bailout.

Two years ago McCotter suggested tax breaks for pet owners. His campaign site is campaign web site is McCotterrocks.com.

The last--and only--Michigander to become president was Gerald R. Ford.
