This afternoon the US Senate effectively
blocked the appellate court nomination of University of California-Berkeley law professor Goodwin Liu. He's one of those "living Constitution" types, believing that the US Constitution is adaptable to the whims of the intelligentsia. You know, people like himself.
It was 52-43 for Liu, who has never been a judge. But to have his nomination move ahead, Liu needed 60 votes.
If you don't like the law, change it. If you don't like the Constitution, amend it.
