Flip flop: Obama now says he doesn't want Israel to return to its pre-1967 borders

In an address to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee this morning, President Obama "clarified" his remarks made last week that he wants Israel to retreat to its pre-1967 borders, something the Israeli Prime Ministier Benjamin Netanyahu called "indefensible" the next day--right in front of Obama. In his AIPAC speech, Obama said this: "The borders of Israel and Palestine should be based on the 1967 lines with mutually agreed swaps."

Flip flop.

Unbelievable. He didn't say what you said he said, then when he repeats it VERBATIM, you now say he did say what you say he didn't.

And call that a flip flop.

Do you really think anyone is so stupid as to accept your characterization?

Obama today repeated, word for word, what he said the other day. He even declared - let me REPEAT what I said, not what the dishonest spinners said I said (ok, that was not a direct quote).

This has been a TOTALLY phony issue, pushed by extremist Obama haters and absolutists who really do not want peace. The last Israeli PM, Ohlmert, said, three years ago, exactly the same thing as Obama did regarding '67 borders, and even more than Obama has said about J'lem.

Obama didn't equivocate his 1967 comments on Thursday. I stand by my post.

His previous comment was:
"We believe the borders of Israel and Palestine should be based on the 1967 lines with mutually agreed swaps"

The numbers "1967" appear exactly once in the transcript:
