From the SRCC: Small business backs GOP on EPA – Will Democrats?

A vote on the McConnell-Inhofe Amendement, which I posted about earlier today, is expected to take place this afternoon or this evening.

From the Senate Republican Communications Center:

Small Business Backs GOP On EPA – Will Democrats?
Dems Have Previously Argued: ‘Our Top Priority Should Be Working With Them To Create An Environment So Small Businesses Can Thrive And Create Jobs’

NFIB: ‘The EPA’s Actions Only Make It More Difficult For Small Business Owners To Grow Their Business And Create Jobs’

NFIB: “On Behalf Of The National Federation Of Independent Business (NFIB), The Nation’s Leading Small Business Advocacy Organization, I Urge You To Support The McConnell/Inhofe Amendment (#183) to S. 493, the SBIR/STTR Reauthorization bill, which would prevent the Environmental Protection Agency from regulating stationary sources of greenhouse gases under the Clean Air Act.” (The National Federation Of Independent Business, Letter To U.S. Senators, 4/6/11)

·         NFIB: “The EPA’s Actions Only Make It More Difficult For Small Business Owners To Grow Their Business And Create Jobs” “Coupled with the increase in costs resulting from the increased permitting and reporting requirements under these regulations, the EPA’s actions only make it more difficult for small business owners to grow their business and create jobs, especially in an economy that is just beginning to turn around.” (The National Federation Of Independent Business, Letter To U.S. Senators, 4/6/11)

SENATE DEM: ‘If We Do Not Stand For Consumers And Small Businesses On The Floor Of The Senate, Shame On Us’

SEN. HARRY REID (D-NV): “Small Businesses Are The Laboratories Of Visionaries Who Create Jobs And Cultivate Ideas. We, In Turn, Must Help These Businesses Grow And Succeed.” (Sen. Reid, Congressional Record, S.1574, 3/14/11)

SEN. DICK DURBIN (D-IL): “If We Do Not Stand For Consumers And Small Businesses On The Floor Of The Senate, Shame On Us. Who Else Is Going To Do It?” (Sen. Durbin, Congressional Record, S.2012, 3/31/11)

SEN. PATTY MURRAY (D-WA): “It Is So Important That We Keep Focusing On What Is Most Important Right Now For Families And Small Business Owners Across The Country; That Is, To Continue Working To Create Jobs And Boost The Economy.” (Sen. Murray, Congressional Record, S.1730, 3/16/11)

SEN. BOB MENENDEZ (D-NJ): “I Ask, Why In The World--Especially During These Fragile Economic Times--Would We Want To Do Anything That Could Raise The Costs On Small Businesses?” (Sen. Menendez, Congressional Record, S.2099, 4/5/11)

SEN. DEBBIE STABENOW (D-MI): “We Know Small Businesses Create Two-Thirds Of All New Jobs In America. Our Top Priority Should Be Working With Them To Create An Environment So Small Businesses Can Thrive And Create Jobs.” (Sen. Stabenow, Congressional Record, S.1731, 3/16/11)
