Some want to kick Rumsfeld off of New Trier High School 10 Outstanding Alumni group

Winnetka, Illinois' New Trier High School has many famous alumni, probably more than any school in the state. These include Charlton Heston, Rahm Emanuel, Ann-Margaret, John Stossel, and Mark Kirk.

And Donald Rumsfeld. In addition to his two stints as Secretary of Defense, he served as President Gerald Ford's chief of staff, was an Illinois congressman, and was twice a chief executive officer at G.D. Searle and General Instrument Corporation.

But because he was SecDef under President Bush during the Iraq War, the Chicago Tribune is reporting that some people in the New Trier community are objecting to his inclusion among the 10 "outstanding alumni" at the high school.

Rummy belongs.

The other honorees can be found here. Christie Hefner, the former CEO of Playboy Enterprises, and Arthur C. Nielsen Jr., of A.C. Nielsen fame, are the only names among the rest most people have heard of.

Which means Charlton Heston didn't make it.
