Rahm challenges to be heard this morning

Challenges to Rahm Emanuel's mayoral candidacy will be heard this morning. Presiding over that hearing will be Chicago Republican (Yes, there are a few) Joseph Morris, who I saw speak about Saul Alinksy at an Evanston Regular Republican Organization event a few months ago. Yes, there are GOPers in Evanston, too.

Morris possesses an exceptionally keen mind. And I expect both sides to be treated fairly by him.

The challenges to Rahm's candidacy center around his residency status. Emanuel's home has been rented to Rob Halpin--until October month Rahm had served as White House chief of staff. Halpin is running for mayor too, but there are questions about his petitions. The same homeless man who got thousands of petition signatures for Halpin did the same for another candidate, state Senator James Meeks. Both men apparently turned in some petitions with forged signatures of a notary public.

Chicago....what a nut house.
