If Giannoulias does enter the race, he has to hurry up and get 12,500 signatures so he can get his name on the February ballot.
It will be fun to see Democrats drawing attention to his family-owned bank's ties to organized crime figures.
Complicating matters is the upcoming release of the FDIC's final report about the collapse of his family-owned bank in the next few days.
UPDATE 3:05pm CST: Giannoulias says he is not running for mayor, according to CBS 2 Chicago.
