The time for skeptics to take the 2010 Republican resurgence for real is when a GOP candidate leads in a US Senate race in another normally reliable blue state--such as Washington.
Oh wait...that's happening.
The Washington Post's Chris Cilliza reported this morning that a Fabrizio, McLaughlin and Associates polls shows Republican challenger Dino Rossi leading Democratic incumbent Patty Murray 48 percent to 42 percent. Four months ago the same pollster had the pair tied at 46 percent.
Murray is running scared, which is why the Seattle Times is denouncing her "false" and "grossly malicious" ads. Murray likes to portray herself as "a mom in tennis shoes." Yesterday news broke that "mom" is the second largest recipient of contributions from lobbyists. Mom also secured $19.5 million in earmarks for lobbyists. No mas? No mom?
