T-Paw on our $1 trillion annual deficit

The annual federal deficit exceeded $1 trillion--again. This is change I can't believe in.

Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty released a statement Friday about this distressing news.

President Obama now acknowledges there’s no such thing as a "shovel-ready project." There's also no shovel big enough to dig our country out of the financial hole he's dug.

This year, Washington again spent over a trillion dollars more than they had, and amazingly, they plan to do it again next year. President Obama can no longer deny what the rest of the country already knows: Washington has a spending problem.

The solution is obvious: Recognize mathematical realities, set priorities, and then cut almost everything else. We proved this is possible in Minnesota, where we made tough choices and cut actual spending this biennium for the first time in our 150-year history.

This year’s unsustainable deficit was racked up by President Obama and his allies in Congress. Fortunately, regime change begins on November 2.
