The larger Great Lakes region, as National Review writes in its latest print edition, is poised to hook its fortunes to the GOP. As is California's Central Valley. Plagued by drought--an environmentalist-made one-- and high unemployment, it appears the valley will rise up to the GOP on Tuesday.
Here's one interesting race:
In California's 11th congressional district, Republican David Harmer is challenging Democratic incumbent Jerry McNerney, who claims he is independent and has been telling voters so. But he votes with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi 95 percent of the time.
But this summer the "independent" McNerney got caught praising the unpopular speaker, and I believe ObamaCare, at a Democratic Party luncheon a few months ago.
Jerry McNerney:We got through it. I think we did a tremendous job.
Nancy Pelosi has to be the one to be congratulated because Barack was ready to let it go…but Nancy pushed it through.Time for a Republican rise. RealClearPolitics lists this race as "Leans GOP."
So, we really have a tremendous speaker in our party.
I'm very proud of her, she gets vilified all over the place but you know what…that is part of the game I guess.
They are out there saying you know these guys are spending too much money and they are raising taxes and all this stuff which is nonsense.
We have done a tremendous job.

McNerney is "very proud" of Pelosi.
