Public Policy Polling, which is affiliated with the Democratic Party, released two polls today that show the Great Correction is coming. In West Virginia, a strong Democratic state except when it comes to presidential elections, the Dems have reason to fret. Governor Joe Manchin, who was considered a sure-thing to win in November and keep the seat in Democratic hands, trails his Republican opponent, John Raese, 46 to 43 percent, according to PPP. This is within the poll's margin of error, but the Democrats find themselves fighting to save a seat that they weren't counting on spending resources on.

In Wisconsin, Democratic incumbent Russ Feingold's numbers have been slipping for months--but on New Year's Day his reelection looked like a slam dunk.
In what the far-left website Daily Kos is calling "a malaise" among Wisconsin voters, political novice Ron Johnson, a Republican, leads Feingold in another PPP poll, 52 percent to 41 percent.
Kos adds that President Obama won America's Dairyland by double digits two years ago.
