Did Obama and Sasha really swim in the Gulf?

It appears that the mainstream media, again, fell for White House media-spin. The well-circulated photograph of President Obama and his daughter Sasha swimming in the Gulf of Mexico, well, he was really in well-sheltered St. Andrew's Bay.

While swimming in the Gulf, Obama declared that beaches "all along the Gulf Coast are clean and safe and open for business."

But as Doug Powers, writing on Michelle Malkin's blog, points out, just eight miles away, in the actual Gulf, a man drowned on a beach closed because of a riptide.

There were no media members present when the president and his daughter swam in the Gulf.
