The Dems' upcoming constipated duck session?

I can't remember where I heard or read this, but the exaggerated stride Groucho Marx utilized in his comedies, including "Duck Soup," has been called "a constipated duck walk." That sounds like a lame duck, and according to John Fund in the Wall Street Journal, we may be facing the revenge of the lame ducks after Election Day.

In a must-read, it appears the Democrats will use a lame duck, that is a post-election session, to force through such job-killing bills such as cap and trade and union card check. That's not all: higher taxes could be coming, and more pork-barrel projects, which a Senate aide told Fund would be "their last hurrah for spending."

In Duck Soup, Groucho's Rufus T. Firefly character becomes prime minister of the bankrupt Freedonia, sending the nation into ruins, albeit hilariously.

If Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, and President Firefly pursue the Freedonia/lame duck course, most Americans won't be laughing.

Gentlemen, Chicolini here may talk like an idiot, and look like an idiot, but don't let that fool you: he really is an idiot. I implore you, send him back to his father and brothers, who are waiting for him with open arms in the penitentiary. I suggest that we give him ten years in Leavenworth, or eleven years in Twelveworth. R.T. Firefly
