California quake: Fiorina leads Boxer in poll for first time

The Weekly Standard is reporting tonight that there is a political earthquake in California US Senate race. Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina, a Republican, leads Democratic incumbent Senator Barbara Boxer leads 47 percent to 45 percent. That lead is within the SurveyUSA poll's margin of error, but Fiorina has been slowing chipping away at Boxer's poll numbers.

In the Golden State's gubernatorial contest the Republican candidate, former eBaby chief Meg Whitman leads Attorney General Jerry Brown, 46 percent to 39 percent, according to the same survey.
