Affair forces Indiana Republican to quit Congress

Rep. Mark Souder (R-IN), who positioned himself as a champion of family values, announced that he will resign the seat he has held since 1995. He admitted to an affair with a part time female staffer.

Two weeks ago Souder survived a primary tough primary challenge. It's unclear how he will be replaced both on the ballot and for the remainder of his term.

Indiana's 3rd District is safely GOP, look for a Republican to occupy that seat in January.
