When I started Marathon Pundit five years ago, my idea was to have several running posts each week amidst my political wisdom. Now I'm lucky if I get around to one a month. And this one isn't even about running, although I took the photograph of the elderly gentleman cycling during an afternoon twelve mile run.
He had just zipped through the flooded portion of the North Branch Running Path in Niles' Bunker Hill Woods; the namesake North Branch of the Chicago River is swollen, we've gotten a lot of rain in the last few days.
As for myself, I suffered the indignity of getting my shoes and socks wet.

Frank Shorter always hated getting his feet wet during a run. You?
