Two Dem state reps want National Guard in Chicago

John Fritchey and LaShawn Ford, both state representatives from Chicago, want the National Guard sent to violent city neighborhoods to fight crime. Local media reports of the proposal have focused on the South Side Englewood neighborhood, where gang shootings are commonplace.

One of those reps is John Fritchey, who said, "We're not talking about rolling tanks down the street." He added, "If we bring them in to fill sand bags and pick up tornado debris, we can bring them in to save lives

Jody Weis, Chicago's police chief, opposes the idea.

Wildly bad idea.

I guess they'd rather have troops get killed closer to home?

In addition to what the implications are to having troops patrol the streets of Chicago, these two politicians have publicly displayed an amazing lack of confidence in the Chicago Police Department, Dah Mayor, and the ability to quell the violence in the streets.

Capn, I'm curious. What has the Police Department and da mayor done so far to stop this utter nonsense.

To be truthful it is a war going on. The idea is brilliant. What else could be done.
