Long opposed by the otherwise-green movement-friendly Kennedy family--I suppose because their Hyannis Port Cape Cod compound is nearby--the offshore Cape Wind project has been given the green light by Interior Secretary Ken Salazar.Many of the rich slobs who live nearby are also against the project. Ironically, they often take a different view of building wind farms where you live.
There has been an adjustment to the offshore wind project--instead of 170 turbines, just 130 will be constructed.
Besides the Kennedy family, some Republicans oppose Cape Wind, including Sen. Scott Brown and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney.
