Convicted political swindler Tony Rezko's 30-room Wilmette mansion, which he lost through foreclosure, is up for sale, the Chicago Tribune is reporting this morning.
It's an historic property--it was the site of a crucial 2003 Barack Obama Senate fundraiser which brought the future president credibility--and of course, cash--for that race. At the time, Obama trailed badly in opinion polls.
So you can call the Chicago North Shore palace the House That Built Obama.
Here is my idea for the mansion--turn in into the Illinois Museum of Corruption.
The asking price for the home is $3.5 million.
